Title: Looking for name of this game
Post by: emerica on May 06, 2007, 04:36:30 pm
About a year ago I picked up a cocktail table from a member here (thenasty). I finally decided it was time to take it out of the shed and begin to work on it. I peeled off an overlay that was placed on the original cp. Unfortunately, it does not tell me what game it was. All it says is Entertainment Industries.

Take a look at the pic and hopefully someone will recognize this game.  :applaud:

could be this...

http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=695 (http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=695)

its not a 100% match but the cabs are similar shape, same amount of controls, space shuttle theme, and if you check the back of the flyer it shows right as "speed up." many times those flyers were made with prototype games so it is possible that is why the art is different.

idk...anyone else want to take a shot?

I have seen that before but now its bugging me as I cannot remember the game.  I'm thinking Star Wars but that is not it.  Not the vector, but the other one.

I have a feeling that it is artwork for a different game of another theme.

Not helping am I?    :banghead:

I'm in the same boat...I have never seen this artwork before and it has me stumped as well. That is why I posted here.  :banghead:

Is there any other markings on the cabinet (inside or out)? A manufacturer would definitely help. Does it have any cryptic markings on a serial number plate?

I lost the phone number where I got that cabinet from, actually I lost the Phone that stored his #  :banghead:

I like to find out also what it is.  :dunno

I found an Entertainment Industries Inc. on BBB.org based in Connecticut. No longer in business. Tried to look for them on the CT business website (thinking maybe they got renamed or absorbed into another company) and tried to look for them on Google patents (patent on the game?).

The closest reference I could find was a 1999 EA earnings report which mentions Victor Entertainment Industries. But I doubt it's the same company.

I'll take a look and see if there is anything else on cabinet. As far as I can tell, there is nothing else to note about the cab. Perhaps a scrape here and there will produce something.  :dunno

I've been itching to for quite sometime now but was waiting for the warm weather and also for my basement to get finished. It was slow going with the basement.

My initial thought was Zaxxon.  It used a tron like joystick with a trigger fire.  The "Special" button has me confused tho.  This is a stumper.

My first thought was Space Seeker.  Haven't been able to find any cabinet pics (especially cocktails) but it uses a shuttle in a side scroller similar to Scramble, which may explain the left/slow, right/fast, up, and down joystick and two buttons, which is also similar to Scramble...

I only see one button, but it's SPECIAL.

Did some more digging through the cab and took the overlay off the other control panel, but it was all in vain. There is a serial number, but it is just a number unless there is some sort of   code or something about manufacture dates and/ or manufacturer.

I've search just about every string I can think of at arcadeflyers.com and klov.com. Is there anywhere else that I should be looking?
