Wondering if anyone has been able to get CarnEvil running on their rig at an acceptable frame rate (by that I mean, running fast enough that it's at least enjoyable). I've heard people mention being able to obtain 30fps, but I'm not sure it that's worth while.
The CHD file is something like 1.6G or so, so if it's not really playable, I'd rather not bother with the hassle of putting it on my machine.
Thanks in advance.

Not according to the MAME benchmark database (although it doesn't appear that anyone with a Core 2 Duo has tried yet):

If the benchmarkers got 50 fps with an Athlon 64 at 2700 MHz, then I would predict that you will get 60+ fps with a Core2Duo at 3GHz.
Try it and see. Disk space is cheap.

Ahh, interesting. Thanks for the link.
Looks like they say 60-80 FPS is the miniumum for borderline playable.

I might if I had a Core 2 duo .. but I don't. Based on those benchmarks I'd be pushing 50fps if i was lucky. I may give it a go anyways.

well, you can indeed reach 80fps+ with an e6600, but the game spec. is 57hz. also noted while testing that the sound is still choppy at times - ymmv.

I tried it on my core 2 duo awhile back, still not playable by any means.
