Does anybody have a copy of mamehooker1.3.zip? I had it but I had to rebuild my laptop and for some reason didn't make a backup copy. I have scoured the web but came up empty. I'm sure Howard will get this back online but I'm inpatient. I finally got my secondary monitor and I'm itching to get all of my display images working.
Thanks

As dowloaded from Howards site prior to it going down.

File removed per Howards request.

Thanks I appreciate it.

Does anybody have the seawolf sample file? When I'm displaying an image it cuts off parts of it. I know I'm doing something stupid but I can't figure it out.

No... that's a known bug. Perhaps instead of worrying about getting it working, you should worry about me getting my site up. I can't work on this until I do.

How can I be of service? Are you looking for a hosting site or help with the content?

I thought you were waiting for oscar controls to give back your content. Or does Saint have it after it was transferred over here?
-
No I've got my content, I'm waiting on some help installing new blogging software. Boy it doesn't do any good to make a post asking for help around here. ;)

Which blog software? Unix or Windows based? I'm a windows system engineer in real life so I might be able to help if its windows based. Unix based I will not be of any use. Let me know how I can help.

I've administered a few websites, and setting up a blog is relatively easy. You just upload to the server and chmod the right permissions. An SQL database is a little more complicated but usually any sort of blogging software will have instructions on how to set it up.

well it's not so much the "install" part of the install, rather the integration into the existing site. My java/php scripting skills are limited and all of these newer blog systems (like wordpress) want you to use their stupid templates which look awful. For the most part, I like the site the way it is, I just need to make it magically work again.
-
Howard, you may want to look at cmsmadesimple (http://www.cmsmadesimple.org). It is very easy to create a custom template and then you can just create pages that will be displayed with that template. There are some "blog" plugins available for it as well. As I've stated before, I can provide you with hosting if you need it. Or if you need some help creating a page template for some web software like wordpress, drupal, or cmsmadesimple, I can help with that as well.

I think saint's got me covered on the hosting end. I don't have any preference over anyone, but I figure byoac isn't going anywhere anytime soon so it'll be preserved long after I'm gone. Mirroring files would be great though, just in case something happens.... the html is replaceable, some of the files are not.
Some help making a template would be great.... once I get the html pages back in place I'll see about setting up some admins so it'll be easier on all of us. Need to talk to saint first.

In my experience most php built sites have a bunch of *.inc files that are raw html included in the display code. Eg. header.inc, menu.inc, main.inc, footer.inc etc. Usually you can just "cut up" your existing website into these pieces and paste them into these files so you can have your own design and look. I've built entire websites like this in pure php from scratch. I'm sure the professional blogs would work in a similar fashion so in most cases knowing alot of php is probably not needed. You do often have to take into consideration special keywords and codes that specify where the content goes, but other than that should be copy and paste. If you need some specific help, or have questions just shoot me off an e-mail and I'll do my best to help you out.

Now that you have been up for nearly 3 full days it's time to get back to work. ;) Any idea of when you may have a newer version of mamehooker out that addresses this problem?
Thanks

What does Mamehooker do?

This thread explains it better than I can. I will be using it to display game/controller information on a second monitor mounted on my cabinet.

I dunno... it'll be done when I get to it. :)
Can someone please remove the attachment from this thread? My site is back up now and I don't want any un-traceable links floating around. Thanks!
