Hadn't seen this earlier, but the Blue Brain (http://bluebrain.epfl.ch/) is attempting to simulate a brain with a supercomputer.

They are not trying to create artificial intelligence. They are simulting a brain. The goal is mostly to see if the current theories about the brain are accurate.

Though there are several points of interest, I think the creation, or enabling or whatever, of consciousness was implied if not said. But, yeah, I spose.

I just wish Battle Bots would be outlawed. After the inevitable robot uprising, they're going to be asking some pretty tough questions about that kind of exploitation. ;D

I wonder what's worse, the few fighting bots or the millions of robots that we enslaved to work in our factories for no wages.
