I have a Sony Brand BetaMax Player/Recorder model SL-HFR30 and Sony Beta Hi-Fi Processor HFP-100 for sale. Everything works fully. Remote missing. Picture and sound still look and sound great. Playback in Stereo RCA with the Hi-Fi Processor. Also inputs/outputs for 75Ω and 300Ω. Comes with about 24 tapes, including 2 sealed head cleaners, ten sealed blanks (Four Sony L-750, One Scotch L-750, Five 3M L-500), a retail copy of "Bolero", and several other tapes with various things on them. $200 shipped. Less if you choose to pick it up locally in central NJ. I accept money order or cash upon pickup.

This gets a WTF bump.... ???
Beta??

There are a lot of Beta enthusiasts out there. Beta has much better picture quality than VHS, The tapes are smaller. There are other reasons too, but I can't think of them right now.
-
IIRC, main problems with Beta were recording time... a lot of units could only put one hour on a tape, others only two hours. Sony kept revising the stupid standard on the fly to match VHS' flexibility but they didn't seem to give a crap about how it affected the people who had already spent at least hundreds on their hardware in the prior 12 months. Sound familiar from Sony? They also banked heavily on a proprietary audio output (the Hi-Fi USSEnterprise mentions) that only interfaced with certain high end Sony audio equipment that nobody bought.
Better, picture, very very poorly thought out format that screwed many early adopters over hard.

I think my father in law has one of these (or a similiar model) from all his stringer media work throughout the years.
Let me see if he wants to get rid of it and which one it is exactly.

Just called him, I was wrong sorry. He's got a Sony BVU-950 U-Matic SP. Looked like beta to me
