If I wanted to replace the PS in my Jamma (dynamo) cab what Power supply should I get.
The current one is a Peter chou in a silverish metal box. Should I just get a similar one or one that looks like this:

Is the Peter Chou one working?? If it is I can't see why you would want to replace it. They're a very good and reliable power supply.
If it isn't working and can't be repaired then the Far East supply you're showing is a good alternative, because they cost very little money.
If the Peter Chou one is dead, then start by sticking an ESR Meter on the caps and seeing if any of them have died.

My Peter Chou supply is working but I want to get a backup since it started making a strange noise. I'm hoping it's just the bearing in the fan and that I can repair it. But It also wouldn't hurt to have a spare...or one to use while I take the old one apart.

The Peter Chou silver box type is the computer style power supply (modified PC/XT). It would be a pain to rewire your cabinet for the screw terminal style.
The only problems with the computer style silver box is the fan goes bad and capacitors get too hot and dry out..

How hard is it to replace the fan?
