Title: Happ Super or Pacman Reunion
Post by: ringram on April 22, 2007, 08:44:30 pm
Getting ready to make a purchase for all my control panel parts, and I will be using Happ Super's for the player 1 and 2 sticks. I am going to dedicate a 4-way as well, and was initially going to use another Super in 4-way (4/8 selectable, right?).

Is the Super a decent enough 4-way, or is the reunion stick a lot better? Does the reunion stick have a physical restrictor on it to prevent going into the diagonals? Can a restrictor plate be added to the super to make it a better 4 way? Other comment are appreciated. And I don't care about the pro's con's of wico vs nintendo 4 way sticks or what the definition is of broken!

Definitely get the reuinion. The Super does not have a true 4-way restrictor, thus there are dead spots when you are in a diagonal position.

It's my understanding the reunion stick is basically a modified super (diffent stick, different acutator).

The description on happcontrols.com is that the super can be changed from 4-way to 8-way by flipping the actuator over. Is the actuator the restrictor plate, or is it the rubber/plastic end on the stick that engages the switches. Please clarify for me.

I was hoping to have the 4-way stick "Look" like the 8-way sticks, but I also want a decent 4-way stick, so I may have to make compromises.
