Title: MaLa Messages
Post by: loadman on April 21, 2007, 03:54:38 am
Just making sure you all knew about the App 'MaLa Messages'

It's a bit of fun for anyone to download this and control MaLa remotely..  A bit freaky too   :o

The app has no real use on it's own but it opens the mind to new possibilities

The source code is provided.  I have used part of the code to pause the background Music in my Emu-Wave Plug-in.

Download the exe as part of the Plug-in SDk from :  HERE (http://mala.arcadezentrum.com/easytrack.php?id=pluginSDKv1.1)

I don't know...
I'm not interested in doing this right now, but what if someone was to write a decent looking GUI for it. You could integrate a small touch screen into your cab and have full control of Mala from there.
Instead of telling people "use joystick 2 up and down to change emulators, left and right to choose game lists, blah, blah, blah" they could make all choices with the newly intuitive touch screen.

Sounds like it could be slick if it was implemented right.

Yeah I guess you would be carefull to allow enough space on your layout for the touch screen window to sit on top...  Or fire commands from another screen or another PC via TCP/IP  he he he he  :P

As I say.... This prog was really just to demo what the messages could do ...  How someone implements that into their own plug-in or stand alone app is the question  ;D
