2/4/8 way...are they crap?

They are not what I would call quality.
Having said that, I have a set that I picked up for a kids cabinet that I have yet to get around to building.
I'd never put them in a cabinet that I was going to play on.

You are probably thinking of the The Rollie Electronics 4/8 Way Adjustable Joystick Review (http://www.retroblast.com/reviews/RollieJoystick-11232006-01.html). That joystick has a similar 2/4/8 way restrictor plate, but not identical:

I had these buttons in my first AS (3 years ago). with this auction. they are tragical, hard, every gives different sound.

I did not buy joysticks. look on imitations seimitsu LS32
