Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I just decided to build a custom arcade joystick using a PS2 Dualshock2 hack (Doing this will make it compatible with almost any system with use of adapters) using the Mortal Kombat button layout (incl. the Run button).
I want it to be an exact replica of the MK arcade panel. :)
This was the CPO I was aiming for:

It's a MK3 panel with additional 'run' buttons, only thing is that this type of CPO seems very hard to come by, so I decided to go for the MKII CPO.

This one is from mamemarqees.com and is covered with Polycarbinate laminate wich makes it rockhard and shiny too! ;D
I've come across another MKII CPO on Ebay though, only without the Polycarbinate laminate covering and it's nothing more than a sheet of metal (with precut holes)
and the seller states that this is a very rare Item (eventhough he has two of them)
So, now for the question...
I'm quite indecisive when it comes to making my choice between the two CPO's
I was wondering if anyone here can tell me the front and backends of both these type of overlays?
Thnx you guys!
I'll post some pictures as I start building the stick..
Grtzz!

Total N00B here! ;D
Help? ???

I'm starting to think that I asked a very silly question? :dunno

Poor guy...
For me, I like the MKII CPO. Holds more memories. Add a run button and call it a day.

That wasn't really my question.. :applaud:
But thanks anyway!

ah, my mistake.
Heres my experience so far:
Polycarbonite is nice. It sticks on and your done.
Non-poly needs to be covered with some plexi or something.
You say this is a metal CP with holes. What does that mean exactly? You have your CP and it needs the overlay? If so, go with the polycarbonite if you can. It'll apply directly to it, cut out the holes and your done. If you need to put a non-poly on it - you'll want to also figure out a way to attach some plexiglass.
How'd I do this time? ;)

The CPO itself is a metal sheet!

Come to think of it, I may go for the Polycarbinate laminated one, this way I just have to aply it to the panel instead of covering it with plexiglass, like you said..
This way it will have a nicer look without the plexiglass.
Thanks for your reply leapinlew !

The guy selling this on Ebay says no..
He only ships within the US, so I asked him (before bidding) if he could make an exception, he agreed considering he had two of these.. :blah:
Anyway, It seems he changed his mind and totally screwed me over with his 'promise'
O well, time to order the Polycarbinate laminated one from mamemarquees (http://www.mamemarquees.com/) !! ;D
