Anyone know if you can use the XBOX360's wireless adapter with a PC?
If so, how? (Got tired of searching on the internet and turning up nothing!)
Thanks for any assistance...

You just use this. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=sr_1_3/103-1472038-4192617?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1176872590&sr=8-3 I bought it and was planning to use it for a gaming machine i'm building with a htpc case but the stick dosen't center that well. It was impossible to choose a game with mamewah and atomicfe since it kept moving up and down the list without me moving it. And you can't use the dpads either.

so you have your 360 in a mame cab as well? i know you said htpc, but just wondering if people can actually afford to put a 360 in their mame cab!?

It wasn't so long ago that $400 seemed like a good deal to put a Star Wars yoke in a cab.

It sounds like he was just building a PC - not an arcade machine. And there's no XBox 360 involved. Just a controller.

Unless somewhere out there they call controllers adapters, wouldn't this guy be talking about the 360 wi-fi adapter?
As for that...
I am not sure if it works on PC or not, but isn't that a pretty expensive route to go wireless on a PC?

Sorry I didn't explain myself. I installed a 400mhz pc in an small htpc case so I can play it on my hdtv. It's sort of like a game console. I can take it to friends houses since it's more portable than a cab :laugh2:

Yes, I'm talking about the Wi-Fi adapter. I was just trying to see if you are able to use it on a PC for wireless access just so I don't have to buy another Wi-Fi adapter.
Thanks again....

You can use up to four controllers with each adapter. I don't have a 360 but i'm sure there different for the pc.

He isn't talking about controllers at all.
He is talking about the USB adapter that you plug into the 360 to connect to a wifi network.

I've seen a ton of discussion using a non MS wifi adapter on the 360, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone wanting to go the other way. Have you plugged it in to see if your OS recognizes it?
I have one I can try...tomorrow...
:dunno

Yeah, it needs a driver that I can't seem to find anywhere...
-
yep, recognizes it as a wifi device, but can't install the drivers. I'll keep lookin....
