Title: chrome t-molding
Post by: lakkdainen on March 26, 2002, 10:53:15 am
Does anyone here have experience with chrome t-molding?  They have it on t-molding.com.  I was wondering how well it would hold up, if it was just some paint that would scratch off or something.

well one thing is for sure, any dents and dings in it are going to show up a LOT more. if you wanna use it i suggest only in places where they wont get any abuse.

i purchased the 'chrome' tmolding from there, its just chrome coloured plastic, it also comes with a protective coating over it as well you just peel off once your cab is complete. im sure i'll have some pics in a month or so after finishing construction on mine. but really what you see is what you get from the picture on their website.

Not sure what type you are looking at, but I have seen the type t hat is commonly used on "cheap" furniture.  It uses a metallized material similar to mylar that is laminated onto a grey plastic.  This stuff is not very durable at all, and tends to peel once damaged.

In short, it looks great when you install it, but it really doesn't wear well.
