Title: Galaga Before and After
Post by: Hawk Daddy on April 16, 2007, 09:13:14 pm
As some of you know I partially restored my $50 Galaga machine.  Here are the pics of them compared.  I've got a new CP, and new buttons, I'm just waiting on my carriage bolts before I put it on there.

It was repainted not just clean.  I am still amazed how much brighter the screen is now with out those 4 layers of dust.  Also I'm glad that all of the bugs have been worked out now.

Very nice work Hawk....and yes, I'm jealous as hell!  Originals are few and far between down in Oz.

Hawk- Your work looks great. The clean-up phrase was a figure of speech. Please do not let it ostensibly belittle your great efforts. Your after shots look like a brand new Galaga...BE PROUD!!

Eff it. This time I'm gonna go all out and give you a

I wasn't offended, I just thought that you maybe thought that all I did was clean it.  But I do love this game.   :notworthy:

Nice work! I'm hoping to restore either a DK, Galaga or Ms Pacman for my next project! I'm currently scouting!

But the good news for me was that I got a complete working Galaga for $50.  I also wouldn't mind finding a shell of one, I'd spend $50 on it because I think my MAME cabinet is going to be too big to get into the room where my Galaga is.  I can't wait until I get my Millipede restored and running all the track ball games in MAME.
