I had planned on *finally* painting my cabinet this weekend ands while the weather cooperated yesterday and I got some work done, today was a total washout. I'm pretty bummed out about it... anyone else get screwed by the weather?
-
Same here! Not much cutting going on here.
patience my brother!

Ain't it something? All week during work the weather is good and I plan my weekend with the cabinet to the point that I tell the wife that I'll be working on it all day Sunday.
Here we are - sunday and bad weather!
If you want to kill an hour check out the best 4 way thread. Good clean fun in there.

Where are you all located, cause it's been raining here all weekend also. I'm in SC, USA.
Hawk

I'm in NJ - right outside NYC.

It's gonna rain all week here in albany NY...
I have a basement shop though so no big. If I were building an arcade cab though I'd have to cut outside too...
Have you guys thought of one of those canopy type things?
-
Since I only have one day per week to work on my cab, the cold, then rain has delayed my project for 3 weeks so far.
I'm to the point where I have to paint it, and the temperature hasn't been above 40 degrees any of the days. Tomorrow is another day I'd have to spend some time on it, but its supposed to rain all day.

When I was building the weather wasnt to bad but I was painting a PC not to long ago and the weather was killing me.
-
just use it as a chance to play the games you keep putting off playing.

Bastard rain pooched my plans this weekend too. Screwed up my chainsaw because I think I mixed the wrong oil in the gas on Friday and I was going to try and get it repaired on Saturday so I can fix the leak in the roof and guess what happens? It rains. :badmood:
And due to rain, I can't work on the cab, can't clean the garage, can't do jack ---Cleveland steamer--- other than sit there and watch the cat watch the rain and tree branches flying around.
I'm in California.
I did manage to do my taxes, picked up a copy of GodHand for the PS2 for $19 and got a rebate from D-Link that I sent in nearly almost a year ago.

Effing rain kept some guy from driving down here from Oregon to buy a trailerload of games from me this weekend.
I hate the rain.
-
What type of roof repair requires a chainsaw to fix?
Today is another day I have to work on the cab. It's sleeting right now, and its going to be 45 and raining with 40mph winds. Global warming, ---my bottom---.

Round here we'd kill for that rain right now.
Looking back though geological/sedimentary and other data we are in the worst drought on record, and certainly for more than the past thousand years.
Brisbane (http://www.ourbrisbane.com/) (.au, not CA) has about 1.5 million people looking like running out of drinking water sometime in the next year. Seriously. Our reservoir levels (http://www.seqwater.com.au/content/standard.asp?name=DamOperationsAndMaintenance) are down to about 20% of their capacity and it's now dawning on people that the climate has changed, probably for good. Most everywhere else in Australia that isn't in the tropics is almost as bad.
It's now illegal to wash your car and hose your garden. Already heavily restricted, it will be illegal to top up your swimming pool from July unless a bunch of water-saving conditions around your house are met, like dual-flush toilets and a water efficient washing machine.
Luckily for me, though, it's not affecting my cabinet-building at all.

I can definitely sympathize. I had friday and saturday off. Didn't get a thing done. I probably should have spent time getting the software set up on the PC or worked on the artwork for my cocktail, but instead I just cleaned the house and surfed the web. I'm in Cincinnati.
It was also the deciding factor on whether or not I should drive to the Indianapolis auction. Not that I have a lot of money to spare, but I still wanted to go just to see what was going on. I also thought I might pick up a dead cabinet to put my Simpsons Bowling PCB in. The Dayton, OH auction is coming up in 3 weeks anyway.

Wow--it's crazy to think about all the things we take for granted.
