Does anyone know if these support multiple simultaneous keypresses? I remember reading here a while back about a dance pad that did not support two keypresses.
-
Unfortunately, those can't be ordered from Canada...

Sure they can ... you just need a US address ... ;)
I ordered one ... we'll see if it makes it way up here.
Thanks for the heads-up saint!

I have one from the last go-round. The up/down/left/right buttons are emulated as the hat switch on the joystick (so no multiple concurrent presses of these). The diagonals are all individual buttons and there are "select" and "start" buttons at the top which are also emulated as buttons. The main joystick directions are not emulated by the pad.

just ordered one, for $6 why not
-
I ordered one just so I could hack it into something else
I just made some foot pedals to use with BF2 (need another button for crouch and spot that doesn't effect my aim or my ability to move around). The only item I had I could hack was an old ps2 joystick with a ps2-usb connector.
Would be nice to have something I can use thats directly usb.
Anyone know if this emulates a joystick or a keyboard?

It emulates the hat switch on a joystick, with 6 additional buttons (diagonals, "select" & "start") The joystick itself is not emulated.

So is this any good for the well-known DDR PC games ?
Anyone willing to ship one to Europe ?

Not if the game requires you to step on two buttons at the same time.

I may have to order one this time. I'm not too great with FPS when it comes to mouse and keyboard, and it's be nice to hack a few footswitches into jump and a few other functions so I can use my flight stick in lieu of the arrow keys. My hands get so cramped up. Yeah, I'm a wuss when it comes to FPS.

Are any DDR games emulated?
-
I think v .113 added pretty much all of the DDR mixes, but I don't think they're anywhere near working yet. You'll also need the CHD files to go with them (they're around 4-600mb each iirc).

With the pad being USB, you could give it a go using ePSXe or pSX with the PS1 versions.

I don't think the official DDR games are but Stepmania has about a brazilian more songs anyway.

They were added in 0.113 (although they aren't completely working yet):
New games marked as GAME_NOT_WORKING

DDR Max - Dance Dance Revolution 6th Mix (G*B19 VER. JAA) [smf]
DDR Max 2 - Dance Dance Revolution 7th Mix (G*B20 VER. JAA) [smf]
Anyway, there is no point using the pad listed above with these games because you can't step on two buttons at the same time which is what these games require.

Found this on stepmania this might help scroll down until you find the Kraft dance pad and follow the link. It tell you how to fix the joystick axes problem.

Hope it helps...

Great find, thx!

If you really want a decent dance pad, make one. I've looked at several different dance pads, and they varry a lot when it comes to quality and features and price. check out www.ddrfreak.com. They have a forum for building dance pads. I'm going to build one using a GPWiz as the interface and Stepmania for the softeware. I've already did a proof of concept prototype using a keyboard hack.
Now, all I have to do is have it ready for my daughters birthday in a few weeks....

I've ordered one but don't know why. . .
***Oh yeah, FREE!***
The day ---my bottom--- is caught trying to play DDR will be the same day I get admitted to County Hospital with a congestive heart failure.
Level42, If you are interested let me know via pm.

I ordered it but not for DDR,
I'm going to let the baby play with it. It should be fun depending on what i load up for her
-
yeah....just because. :dunno I ordered one too.
-
OK, so I got one too. But, it doesn't seem to work on my cabinet, only on my PC upstairs. no issues whatsoever on my PC, but on my cabinet I am prompted all the time to "choose which joystick to use". And I never do get input from the thing (oh and the box to choose joysticks from is empty :dizzy:). I have a bunch of USB things connected to my cabinet (including 2 U360 joysticks), so I suppose that could be causing the problems? I haven't tried plugging it in to my USB hub yet, but I suppose I'll try that next.
Edit: Plugged it into my USB hub and now things semi-work. I still get asked which joystick to use, but if I use the third blank entry in the list (there are two blank entries above), the pad seems to work...
:dizzy:

I got one of these back when this thread was current and am giving it away. See the free items thread in BST -
