I've watched the new trailer several times already. I am also looking forward to it. Sam Raimi has done a n awesome job with the franchise.

I wonder what Bruce Campbell will be in this one? ;D

*potential spoiler warning*

So, erm, how exactly does he get the symbiote without being kidnapped by the Beyonder?   That would be a whole movie unto itself.  ???

Not really sure how they do it in the movie. (anybody read the book)

But there are other versions of the origin of the symbiote.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venom_(comics) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venom_(comics))

In the cartoons JJ jr brings it from outer space
Quote
The symbiote appeared three episodes later at the beginning of the Alien Costume three-part saga. When John Jameson went to outer space to get an energy rock called Prometheum X, the symbiote was attached to it and followed Jameson back to Earth

That's the cartoon, though, and if they take a multiple hundred-million dollar movie and base it on the watered down version written for a 24 minute animated series... what a waste.

Of course, not that the "I pushed the wrong button" origin on Battleworld was all that thrilling, either.   :laugh2:  I just hate it when they go fiddling around with well established character facts.

(yes, I just happen to have read the Secret Wars series again 2 weeks ago, all hail XBMC)

If you'll remember, they already introduced the JJJ jr. character quite a bit as a setup in part 2.

Nyeh, I barely remember part 2.  I watched it with Jack Daniels.

Here's what I don't get.  I understand why OsCorp guy went all schizo multiple personalities in the first movie.  He got in that machine that made him really strong and quite nutso.  But I never understood when Harry got home at the end of the movie and started hearing the same voices.  That made no sense.  Now this trailer shows him hearing and seeing things again, just like his dad did, and it makes no sense.  He didn't do the crazy machine thing that made his dad crazy, so why is he crazy (and not just crazy, but crazy in exactly the same way as his father crazy).

Mental illness is hereditary.  The accident didn't make him mentally ill, it just made him really strong.  He was already mentally ill but they glazed over that in the movie.

Actually in the tests on rats (before he got the dose of green gas) Dr Stromm said that it produced several sideffects, including insanity.

The son isn't insane.  He's perfectly normal half the time... IIRC he's schizophrenic.

I have a crazy feeling they're going to have the son create the symbiote and "give" it to Spidey anonymously.  That's sounds very "hollywood plausible" to me.

Spiderman I and II are the best comic book to movie translations to date. They are definitely worth the watch.

Apparently you missed Adam West as Batman.

Yeah . . . I love Tim Burton's original Batman, and it might even be a more important movie since it kinda paved the way for every serious comic book movie since, and I loved Xmen I and II and Hellboy and Batman Begins.  But the Spiderman movies are pretty ---smurfing--- great.  They are probably the best of the lot.

Man, am I the only person in the world who did not like Batman Begins? The fight scenes were filmed so tightly you couldn't tell what was going on. People talk it up like it is the best movie ever. Nowhere near as good as the first Michael Keaton film. I'd go as far as ranking Batman Returns and Batman Forever above just for entertainment factor alone.

(As far as I'm concerned, Batman and Robin does not exist. I've nevere seen it and never will.)

I completely agree about batman begins . The fight scenes were so fast you couldn't see what was going on. Batman didn't really seem to be borderline psychotic like he should be It was more like he was just angry. It just didn't draw me in like the 89 one. It was kind of boring and didn't really seem to capture the spirit of batman from the comics.

I liked it.  It was better than every other Batman besides Tim Burton's original, including Tim Burton's follow up to the original.

I thought Batman Begins was much better than the original...seemed more serious/less "comicky".

Back on topic, I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie. Do you actually know if venom will be in here for a significant part of the movie? I'm afraid that the whole movie will center on Spidey's conflict with the suit, and the last scene of the movie will show venom's creation (leading up to the sequel).

Ah, who cares. Venom is always cool.

In the previews it looks like he has at least one significant fight with Venom.

In the 'Ultimate Spider-Man' comic, the suit comes from some genetic experiment..  I'm betting they use that...
