Title: Guideline for building an arcade machine (External link)
Post by: D5A1AC on April 11, 2007, 06:36:17 am
Hi all. I decided to write a guideline for building an arcade machine. It's only 7 pages long and deals with some of the basic things to be considered during the entire process. I've made frequent reference to arcadecontrols (And this new Wiki! - that's new to me) so take a look if you're interested.

Critique is appreciated - It wouldn't surprise me if I've left a few things out. I hope some of you get a bit of value out of the guideline.

Oh, and I asked on IRC to check it was OK that I post an external link but didn't get a response. Based on the rules link above it's fine, so I'll just cross my fingers and hope my writing efforts aren't going to waste :P

Looks pretty good... except for one thing I personally think is wrong- slapping your web address across an image that is taken from Kyle's cocktail plans (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7673807@N05/450143248/).  Yes, you reference it in text above the picture but if you take the picture by itself, it appears to have been created by you.  Maybe its just me...

Other than that nit, its a good, well-written overview.

Nice, I particularly enjoyed the clear concise write up on hiding XP.  The board has all that info but it's nice to have it all in one article.

Good job.  :applaud:

Nice start.   Another 495 pages and you will have a book.   HMMMM   Didn't someone around here do that? ;D
