This guy is asking for $20 for this chair. He's only about 35 minutes away from me.
Should I grab it?
-
Do you intend to build a sit-down driving cabinet?
It'll cost more than $20 just to ship a chair like that if you decide to buy one down the road, so a local one is a good deal at that price.
-
Even if I don't build a sit down cab with this chair I figure it might be good trade fodder.
-
id use it for normal gaming unless you have a recliner. otherwise im not convinced it would be good for trade bait. depending on what you want to trade and where shipping may be involved.
-
where is it? If it was that close to me i'd grab it for a driving cab down the road
-
That's just it though. I don't know if I'll ever have the space for a sitdown cab, as much as I want one. I just called the guy and delayed picking it up tonight. He says it'll go in the dumpster if no one picks it up by the end of the week.
I live in California and I can go all the way to Reno NV or down to Los Angeles since we have family there. Even the Bay Area if I was pressured.
I suppose if someone lives in the Sacramento area, I can get this seat for them for its cost plus the cost of my gas to get it, maybe even trade it away for parts for my Hang-On cab. I really hate to see stuff get destroyed or discarded if someone could use it.

buggers , i'm in ohio.
I'd grab it from him just to keep it from going in the dumpster then post it on the free stuff page

Trade, maybe. But I can't exactly afford to give it away.

GRAB IT!
hold it close to your heart and never let it go
-
well if he's talking about dumpstering it, you should be able to talk him out of it. :dunno
-
heres what you do find out when hes dumping it and wait for him to leave the immediate area and grab it. you get it for free that way.
hold it close to your heart and never let it go
:laugh2:

then hack a madcatz wheel and pedals onto a 1/4 console to set a TV on and you have instant simulator. Hide it in the garage and set it for cruz-in USA and place a fan above the TV
-
I'd pick it up in a second.... either use it on a future sit-down driving cabinet or just have it sitting in the gameroom for the kids to sit on while they play consoles....
At $20 it's a steal
-
Go for it. If you have space to store it you cannot lose.
-

for a fully functional dot legal driving cab...?
don't forget to license it...-=)

At twenny bucks, and given the type of item, I don't know why you're spending the time asking. Fifty, maybe. If you want it, get it.

I hope your , key breaks

I get the sentiment, lew, but I don't know what you're refering to.

The seat isn't in the greatest conditiong. It's worn and there appears to be some kind of overspray from some building remodel perhaps. (How the poor Tempest cab of my youth got destroyed  ) There are no stickers and the speaker grill has damage (albeit repairable). The paint around the bottom is flaking. Needs some TLC to visually bring it to par.
The only identifying mark is on the speaker grill stating it's a NAMCO. After about an hour of searching, I finally located at least one cab it came from. It's a Rave Racer (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=9269) seat. I also discovered the mold is the same one used on Ace Driver (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=6804).
I suspect the seat found life in a number of conversions. While the Rave Racer seat has huge stickers, I see shallow knife lines on the back in the shape of a much smaller bumperesque-like sticker.
I'm reasonably certain I'll put this up for sale or trade. I'm not sure if I want to repair and rebuild the seat or just leave it as is yet.

yayy at least its saved and will get a good home in a new cab eventually though. Too bad i live so far away
