Title: FT Working Pole Position cabinet in nice condition - Chicago Suburb
Post by: More Cowbell on April 10, 2007, 12:54:36 pm
I have a nice working Pole Position cab that I would like to trade for another classic cab. Pole position is a great game but not one of my all time favorites but I would like to replace it with something. Anyone want to change up their game room?
The monitor has some burn in that really isn't noticeable when you're playing. Otherwise it is bright and clear. I replaced the monitor with another one after the pic was taken so the burn in is from a Firefox? game, not the horrible GAME OVER you see in the picture. Like I said, not horrible burn in. I'll get some more pics on soon if there is interest. The sideart is in very nice condition for being 25+ years old with some scratches but overall great. Coin door works great as do all of the switches inside for volume and free play and whatnot. The game sounds great cranked up.  ;D
I took the battery off the board and my next step is to extend wires off of the board to attach the battery elsewhere for safety (don't want any melty batteries ruining the precious board).
Respond here so people can see what's out there (if anything).
Thanks!

I have nothing to trade.

My 6 year old would love that game.  I have a hard to use stand up dreamcast driving cab that she loved.  But it's in the broken pile right now.  It's an outrun cab.

These things are hard to keep working?

Let me know if you decide to sell instead.

I've heard that they're hard to keep working too. I bought it at the Milwaukee auction not working but was able to get it going with some fuses and a replacement big blue (not even a new one). Not sure why it would be any more difficult to keep working than any other Atari game other than that it has two ARII boards and two big blue capacitors. I have someone who might trade me a working Punch Out! in great condition. That would be sweet as I love that game. I'll let you know if it doesn't work out and see if we can agree on a price.

No reply from the Punch Out! dude.  :'(
I'll give him through the weekend. If he doesn't respond by then, I'll wait longer.

I agree with that, PP is very hard to keep alive.  It was hard to keep alive when it was new.  Wish I could find one that worked well.

I decided to stay straight. Actually, the guy never got back to me about the Punchout.  :badmood:
I already removed the battery from the board just in case. Also switched the jumper so it saves high scores. I have it up on craigslist for trade or sale at $500 and have had a few people show interest. Let me know if you're interested.
