Title: Source for Large Seven-Segment Displays?
Post by: Captain_Dingo on April 09, 2007, 08:55:02 pm
I find myself in the need for some large seven-segment displays, kind of like what you'd find on a Skee-Ball machine.  I'm looking for something around four to six inches.  LED or electromechanical would be fine.

Digikey has a few 6" LED displays that are pretty pricey at around $30 per digit.  I need four digits in two pairs.

Does anyone happen to know a way I can make this work without dropping so much cash?

New ones are quite expensive.   Here is a link to some 4 inchers  7 Seg (http://www.futurlec.com/Single_7_Segment.shtml)

You might be able to find some in a surplus shop that are cheaper.

Here are some 5 inchers for $13 Surplus (http://www.elexp.com/opt_0165.htm)
