Title: Baseball Game
Post by: Chapel7 on April 06, 2007, 10:16:18 am
What is the name of the type of Coin-op machine that you play baseball on, it kinda looks like a Pinball machine, it has a few large silver metal buttons you hit , like one for pith and one to hit it with a plastic bat, the metal ball, shoots up a ramp and you can get, runs or outs depending where it goes, and th players pop up and run around the bases.

Thanks

Players popping up and running the bases was used on a few pitch & bats in case you're trying to find the exact name.

In fact, we just did a resto on a 1958 Williams Short Stop.  Go to www.ipdb.org and search "baseball" to see a long list of bat games.

There was a card shop about 50 feet from my back door growing up. I must have averaged 3 trips a day to that place for 12 years. They had a Williams "Line Drive." It had the baserunners. My brother and I played that thing until it broke down. Like 8 times. That is my alltime favorite pin of any kind.

Salem Willows in Salem, MA had a lineup of about 15 of these until the late 80s at least.  They still have a couple now.  I used to play them hard every time I was brought there as a kid, even could get tons of free games because people would rack them up and leave them there.  I miss that.

I LOVE pitch and bats! I can't believe I forgot to add Williams Slugfest to my dream list - it has been at the top forever!

It just is not the same in Pinmame.

Ah Pitch and Bat,

I used to play the ones at Weirs Beach in NH, I got so tense when I got close to 40 runs, to those tickets, there was a Soccer Game I loved to play also, that used a metal flipper and I would shoot the red rubber ball over like a series of pegs trying to get goals, I'd love to get my hands on that game.  Anyone play that one too?  I'll have to check for the slugfest to add to pinmame!

There used to be a Hitter's Rally at an arcade around here. Might have been a chucky cheese. I loved that thing. It did have the little people rounding the bases.

One of my long term goals is a quality animated baserunners pitch and bat.   :notworthy:
