Title: using a ps2 controller for nes/snes/sega/n64 roms

anyone done this? i think its not very practical to use the same arcade setup i'm going to use for MAME, for nintendo and sega games. They make a ps2 usb adapter and i'm wondering if anyone does this

i acctually use logitech wireless usb gamepads for that, there wireless rumblepad work perfectly for n64

I use a PSX-USB adapter with my CP, and will actually use gamepad extension cables to make two psx ports on the CP itself to plug psx controller right into it (ala Tekken 5)..

As far as mame is concerned, I've found that some people play fighters better with the controller, and some do with the sticks.  For fighters, you can use either.  For 4 player games, the controllers will become players 3 and 4.

I like to use the original console controllers wherever I can. I do have a logitech gamepad, as well as a couple xbox to usb adapters I use when needed.

For NES I've actually hacked 2 original NES gamepads to work with a usb port.
Very cool, actually. I used the pc board from a cheap usb controller and put it in the NES case.
Now I have an original looking controller with a usb cable.

For the N64 games I purchased the commercial USB adapters and bought a couple original grey N64 controllers. Works great.

I plan to buy 2 of the snes to usb adapters for those games, since I have some original controllers for that system as well.

For the Atari 2600 I'm either going to build a usb interface, or just wire a 9-pin connector into my encoder.
