Hello,
I’m looking for some advice. First off, I’m running 2 PCBs in one cabinet and switching between them with a 2 in 1 PCB switcher I bought on Ebay.
My problem is that this 2 in 1 switcher is not compatible with the kick harnesses on my CPS2 and NAOMI systems that I’m running in my cabinet.
My plan, since both kick harnesses have the same pinout, is to simply splice the wire from the buttons and have it go to both PCBs. BUT, while I was mucking around with the 2 in 1 switcher I noticed that it uses a diode for each button to prevent back current to the board that is not powered. Now I’m worried that if I simply splice the wire without using a diode I’m going to fry my boards.

FYI: I would not recommend buying one of these since the quality was horrible and was actually missing some components that I had to figure out and replace myself.
Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated thank you,

I'm not sure if there would be any potential damage to the dormant board, but I thought I'd offer a few possible solutions.
1. Wire in the diodes to your kick harness.
2. Wire your kick harness through a manual A-B box (VGA/Serial, etc) and mount it inside your coin door.
Obviously, not ideal solutions, but they may work well enough to get your money's worth out of the 2n1 you already bought.
