I saw online they are selling USB converts for XBOX/PS2/Dreamcast/N64/Game Cube Controllers for the PC. The adapters allows you assign a keyboard key of your choice to each button.
My idea would be to use this convertor with one of the consoles wireless controllers. Take apart the controller and wire it to arcade controls. Think this would work?

This has been discussed before. Some people think that the wireless controllers would not give a good response...
What adapters are you specifically referring to? Got a link?

I have a pair of Logitech wireless USB controllers for the PC that are coming soon. I'm going to test out the responsiveness of them to fighting games and then work from there. Maybe I'll build something really special for the PC out of them... who knows.

I've been using the Logitech wireless USB controllers (unhacked) for a while now. They are very good as far as response goes so I suspect they would be OK for arcade controls.

FYI, I don't think that the Nintendo Wavebird is compatible with the GameCube USB adapter.
