I found a Bubble Bobble for sale and the seller sent me these pics of the cab. To me, it doesn't look like the original Bubble Bobble cabinet, but a conversion from something older. It looks like there's orange paint under the black. Maybe I'm wrong and it is original...
So super sleuths, what are we looking at here?

Pac Man likely with that red T-molding.

That's a pac-man/galaxian profile cabinet. Given it has flame orange T-Molding under that paint, it's gotta be a Pac-Man.
BTW -- There is no such thing as "the original" Bubble Bobble cabinet, as just like Arkanoid, Taito/Romstar simply released BB as a kit, and ops converted existing cabs. You'll never find two identical BB cabs (even if they look like it from the outside, the wiring and other components inside will be different) Notice how all 3 of the known arcade flyers only show gameplay/screens/instructions, never a cab.

Hmm, I should pick this up and turn it back into a Pac-Man, Galaga, or Ms. Pac-Man. It would be a fun project.

Nice. Did you ever get those other two local cabs?

Not yet, but I'm going to go make an offer on the Pulsar one. I figure that the monitor is worth the effort if nothing else.

At least it looks like that besides painting the t-molding it's a pretty clean conversion.

Make it a Pac-man and put a multi-Pac or multi-game (including Pac-man, Ms. Pac, Galaga, etc...) in it, unless you want an original dedicated. The Pac cabinet is about an inch or so shorter than the Ms. Pac/Galaga cabs, which means the side art sometimes doesn't fit right if you go with Ms. Pac. Galaga should work. Although the Galaga & Ms. Pac CP's mounted a little differently (no wood underneath the metal), they should fit, but you'll have to adjust the positioning of the CP clamps.

Also, the Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man cabs are different. That one is a Pac Man I believe. If you get it and decide to cut some stencils remember to cut some extras. ;D

Yeah you should. :)
