Title: Dual light guns not working with MAME32/X-arcade
Post by: laxshooter on April 02, 2007, 09:40:54 am
Hi,
I just bought 2 ACT-Labs PC USB 2 Player Light Gun units, and cannot get them working with MAME32 and X-arcade.

I’m fairly new to MAME and I’m even newer to light guns but I’m hoping somebody can help me out.  I already posted on MAME.net but I was referred to this website.  I’ve tried reading through a lot of the posts already but wasn’t finding information to solve my problem so I figured I’d post.  My current setup is Windows XP SP2, with a 19 CRT monitor.  I’m running the MAME32 version 0.113; I also have an X-arcade dual player controller hooked up as well.

My current problem is that I cannot get my dual light guns to fire a shot.  When I load a light gun rom, I can shoot with Player 1 and the screen flashes white (just briefly) and the “cross-hairs” move to where I shot but the shot isn’t registered.  Now for Player 2, I can shoot, and the screen flashes white (light player 1) but the “cross-hairs” don’t move to where I shot and the shot isn’t registered.  I’m not sure if I’m missing a CNF file or some setting but I would appreciate some help.  The more detail the better as I mentioned before I’m fairly new to this.

I’ve already made sure my PC had the latest version of DirectX installed and I’ve updated my mouse drives to the cpnmouse driver.  Also I’ve made sure my light guns were calibrated and my monitor was setup correctly.

I know this is simple, but did you hit tab in-game and re-assign the p1 shoot to the gun trigger? I had to do this with my mouse for several games.

Thanks Shardian, I’m a little embarrassed to say it but that did the trick.  Well that and I also updated my Xarcade controller file.  Thanks again.

Another question though, when I play some games, the “Cross-hairs” and where the bullet actually hits is about 2 inches off.  I’ve recalibrated but the bullet is always off.  Can anybody help me out with this issue?
