Pretty damned cool.  And you can own it. (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-media/ben-hecks-vcsp-rev-51-portable-atari-system-248510.php)

He has made runs of that size before... buy his book, BTW.  My copy sits next to Saint's book and it is just as worth the price.

Does his book talk about doing what he does?  Cos it seems like a person would need access to some extraordinarily expensive equipment to do that, as opposed to what Saint teaches people, which requires a jigsaw and a router.

No, what he does requires extraordinary ability, at least  the first time.  Laid out with clear instructions it requires much less equipment than building cabs.  The cases themselves, he shows how you can get it done professionally at a local CNC shop, make your own by hand, or buy a CNC-ed kit from him.

Ben has some serious skill. His Wii Laptop, and XBOX 360 laptops being some of his more recent greatness.

Definitely worth a look.

I'm probably in the minority here that I never liked the 2600. I was all about Intellivision, although that would make a crappy handheld, since it's pretty much unplayable without the original controller.

Ben Heck has some seriously cool projects though and if I had any sort of skill at all I'd me making a portable Dreamcast.
