Title: Magical Tetris Challenge??
Post by: Stobe on March 27, 2007, 08:48:14 am
According to MAWS:

0.111u6: Ville Linde fixed Magical Tetris Challenge - Game now playable

I'm trying the .113 version, and it is very choppy and comes up with the warning screen saying "this game does not work, don't even try it, yadda yadda"

Does the statement "Game now playable" just mean it will load up, but not necessarily be usable?  Or am I just doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Stobe

Don't know much about MAME versions but I can tell you that the arcade hardware is basically an N64 with an embedded game.  If you really want to play this, get a copy of the N64 cart, the only real difference is the splash screens.

Also--being N64-based may limit how well it runs. Do Cruis'n USA and Killer Instinct work OK? None of my hardware is powerful enough to run them at a playable speed.

Well, Cruis'n USA at least boots without giving the not working warning.  But on my laptop (P4 2ghz), it is quite sluggish.  I'll have to try it on my desktop later.

But the "not working" screen of the tetris game is what confuses me, when its listed as working.

Both Cruisn USA & Killer Instinct (1 & 2) work fine.  You just need the processor to run them.  IIRC, the hardware for these games is not N64 based, even though they had Ultra64 ads all over them.
