Title: Should I use this old monitor? Also questions on Arcade VGA card
Post by: shredso on March 25, 2007, 01:34:37 pm
I have a MAME machine currently with a 25" TV.  I'm not very happy with the picture.  I still have the monitor that came in the cabinet.  I was thinking of buying the Arcade VGA card from Ultimarc.  Any notes on using the card or if it's a decent monitor?  I seem to remember it looking decent on Mortal Kombat II, i think it had some burn in, but it wasn't noticeable once I started playing.  I think the monitor was from Double Dragon (it was converted to MKII).  It is a Wells Gardner 19K4901.  Will I need any other hardware amplifiers or cables when using that card or is it pretty much plug it and go?

Thoroughly check the Ultimarc page. I think it'll answer all your questions.

vga break out cable would be all you need those do not need the amp or any special cable's just splice the signal's to match the ultimarc vga break out or make your own I bought one and ended up not using it so if you need one I have a new one.
