I'm wondering if I'm the only one out there with Happ USB Trackball problems or if there are others with my similar problem. This is the second time in less than a year that the y-axis on my 3" Happ's USB Trackball has quit on me. This happened last April and I had to replace the PCB (A) Encoder Board (http://www.happcontrols.com/wp/item_search.p?ITEM-NO=55-0301-00). It's worked fine for the last eleven months and just quit again on me the other day.

A couple others here have had problems. I don't think the problem is very common, as it seems that these USB versions are the most popular purchased ATM.
Personally, I like getting the arcade version + mouse interface, but it might be because they were twice as cheap as the all-in-one's when I bought mine. ;) Anyway, if one sensor board goes down, I just pay to replace one sensor board, not sensor + interface.

Thanks for the reply rebelscum. In my particular case, the PCB (A) Encoder Board is the optical sensor and USB interface together so I have no choice but the replace the whole assembly. I haven't done any circuit testing yet, but I'm pretty sure that the IR optics are burnt out on the board since the 'x-axis' which plugs into this board still works fine.

I just started having the same problem - mine is only 2 months old!
Is there some kind of warranty on these things? I bought through one of the resellers on this board. Haven't discussed with him yet.
Thanks
