Title: .187 to .110
Post by: btp2k2 on March 24, 2007, 12:43:14 am
Hey guys....

I have a quick question I can't really find an answer to.

I found a site that sells pushbuttons with internal microswitches (They almost look like the Sanwa buttons). They are about half of what I spend on a Happ Competition button. They have .110 quick disconnects rather than the .187 that is standard. I am using a MiniPac wiring harness and it uses the same .187..is it possible to have it use the .110? Is there any difference in how much juice it gets, or is it a size thing?

That is a size difference only.  The connections would probably work but I would be worried about them shaking loose.  You would have the best results if put new crimp connectors on or you cut off the old and solder.

Show us more info on the new buttons, don't hog the good sources. ;)

By the way, did you see my post about the oversized machines, I think that I want to team up with a fellow Seattleite to grab some huge cabs from Vashon and repair and sell or part them out.  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64674.0

Good luck,

Yeah, I just responded to that post......

I actually found these buttons on the Dream Arcade site, under Arcade Parts. I bought some regular buttons from them before and they were on par with Happ and others.....I am looking to reduce some costs on my Dreamcast cab so I figured they looked pretty good....

Here's a link to em....

Never reduce costs on buttons or joysticks, buy the best always.
This button looks as one big crap.

So, what exactly about this button makes it look as one big crap?

If you could fill me in on your observation and how you came to that opinion, I would greatly appreciate it

There is probably nothing wrong with those buttons, but is it really worth it to buy a set of .110 QD's and spend the time to hack up your MiniPac wiring harness in order to crimp on all these new QD's -- in order to save $8 or $10 on buttons?
