I started my arcade cabinet last summer and because of many things have put it off until now. I ordered the keyboard encoder and before I left I wired it up and tested it on my computer, where it worked perfectly. I then booted up my arcade and then switched the keyboard with the encoder and it froze up the system. If I try to boot with it, neither the mouse nor the keyboard encoder work. I then took the keywiz and hooked it up to my computer where I was able to program it. I even tried plugging it into the arcade without any of the inputs and it still froze the computer up.

I have never had any luck trying to 'hot swap' a PS/2 keyboard or mouse. Plug the keywiz into the computer while it is off. Plug a PS/2 keyboard into the keywiz. Make sure that the keyboard is in the green plug on the keywiz and the connection to the computer is in the purple plug on the keywiz.
Here is a link to the product page on Randy's site. (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=199&zenid=7f3ca34ccfd2facadaec66b5c7b7b57f) Go to the bottom there are links to the install doc, faq and an update to the software for the KeyWiz.
Hope that helps,
TTFN
