Title: Where to get Marquee printed on Glass/Plexi etc
Post by: hevnsnt on April 10, 2003, 11:46:14 am
I am *considering* making my own marquee for my mame machine.  Is there anywhere that sells marquess that are screen printed on glass or plexi?  What kind of a place locally should I look for that might be able to do this?  Any Mame related websites that do this already?

well a good screen printing shop could do it... but it will be mondo expensive...

Most people here usually print their marquee's on photopaper or backlit paper or the like at a  printshop or kinko's and sandwich it between two lexan/glass/plexi pieces...

does that make sense?  It isn't cheap to print directly on the lexan/glass IIRC.

EDIT also emdkay prints marquees (and so do two other byoacers) but they don't do it directly on to the glass... but they have a selection of "ready made" MAME marquees to choose from FWIW

You'd probably have to get is screened on plexi, pricey.

I had my marquee printed at Kinko's on white film for $20 ($18/sq ft).    It came out great.  I sandwiched it between 2 pieces of plexi.  The white film does a great job of defusing the light.
