no but i just thought have a look at what kneivil says about using leds in the following thread
here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64386.0)
if you combined this with the laser etching the light would pick out the design, maybe , im fairly confident :)

It would look pretty cool in my book, but what are you thinking of etching? Plexi seems to scratch pretty easily, so before long, you might end up having to replace it.
-
The material would have to be a translucent acrylic , which is a little more scratch resistant than regular plexi.
-
Yeah, I asked a local guy about this kind of stuff, but the material's price goes up with the price of oil.
-
Umm... Plexiglass is a brand name acrylic. So acrylic is no more scratch resistent than Plexi. Unless Home Depot sells some cheap ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- pretending to be Plexi.
-
Plixiglass is a brand that makes lexan. I dont think my make acrylic though.
-
As was said Plexiglass is a brand name like Kleenex, it's an acrylic.
Lexan is actually also just a brand name, it's a polycarbonate.
Acrylic = Plexiglas, Perspex, Optiplex, Lucite(what I use), etc.
Acrylic is more resistant to scratches and is therefore the obvious choice for covering a CP. The only disadvantage is that it can crack easier when you're drilling it.

Right, it's harder, which would make it more scratch-resistant.
