Title: Mame screensaver?
Post by: DaOld Man on March 14, 2007, 10:59:45 pm
This might not be the right forum, if it isnt, I apologize.
But I am running mame v107 on a winxp computer.
My front end is GLaunch.
Glaunch has a screen saver.
I am thinking of adding a "pause" button to my panel, but by using the keyboard, I have found that if I pause the mame game, the screen stays on forever.
Windows screen saver does not come on.
I have tried setting my "monitor off" to the minimum setting in BIOS, but this doesnt work either.
I am worried that someone will hit the pause button, then walk off and leave the screen on for a long time, which cant be good for the screen.
The screen is a regular 19" vga computer monitor.
Is there anyway to allow the screen saver to come on while a game is in pause mode?
Thanks..

Yeah, this is a general topic. Not sure. I've noticed this, too.  Settings the power settings to turn the monitor off might still be functional.

Well, I tried doing that in Windows and BIOS, but neither work during the game. I dont think I will install the pause button, I dont want to take a chance of ruining the monitor.
