So whats up with this bidder# I see on ebay now. Bidder1, bidder2, bidder3, etc?
-
They made all the bidding anonymous to everyone outside the auction. Once you place a bid you can see the actual names.
-
This doesn't seem to apply to all auctions. Is it an option when listing?
-
Maybe a security method because of all the people contacting other bidders to avoid paying fees, or making fake second chance offers.

No doubt, but why not on all auctions?
-
Beta? Rollout? A model that associates it with a fee?

Hmmm... I auctioned something a couple of weeks ago that had the "bidder 1, bidder 2" thing going on. I have an auction currently running (used the same template) that does not have it.

No clue...I noticed that too a week or so ago,and figured it was because I wasn't logged in. But I just checked a random auction, and I CAN see bidders even though I'm not logged in.
:dunno

My boss claims that it is only once an item goes above $200 that it goes to bidder 1, bidder 2, etc.
