It seems a little plain for MY tastes, but the dimensionality is fantastic.  The characters and text really look like they are actually in the same space, not just images cut from some other source and put together.  It's hard to describe what I mean, but it's like when people fake a photo by inserting somebody into it who was photographed under different lighting conditions.  Your marquee looks like the characters were standing near a hovering MAME logo and somebody took a picture.

Good execution.

Brian

It doesn't appear to be centered right and left.

The words Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator should be removed or figure out a way to make the M in multiple more legible. It's hard to read because of Kens foot.

You should try outlining it in aqua to match the lettering just to tie it all in (as in create a border for the marquee). The whole thing wouldn't appear is if it's floating.

Ken and Ryu seem to be at different levels - look at the bottom of their feet in relation to the bottom of the marquee.

I think the word MAME is too low on the marquee. It should be centered from top to bottom.

Lastly, this is a personal preference, but it's obvious you like street fighter - Ditch the MAME logo. Create your own game name that is a play off Street Fighter. You can put an homage to Mame in the corner or something. I did that with my first marquee - put a small MAME logo in the corner.

I think it's off to a really good start.  I like the image texture in the MAME logo.

I agree that it looks a little plain but I think it's because of all the black.  You need to fill that space... maybe with an illuminated border or some glow effects.

The fighter on the left looks really three dimensional but the one on the right a little less so.  I think you can get a little bit more dimensionality by working with layers hand having his lead hand in front of the Mame logo and his legs behind.

Keep working it.  I look forward to seeing your progress.

thanks for the input guys..

I noticed it wasnt centered after I posted last night.. but that is pretty easy to fix...

My problem with making a different name to use instead of Mame is that I suck when it comes to text.

The rest I am going to work on today.. I will post a new revision when I finish it.
