Lets just say I drove myself to the arcade to play Robotron... I'm old! ;D
I was amazed I liked a Muse song. I hated the single off the last album due to the singers high pitched voice. Knights of Cydonia reminds me of Queen with the harmonies and they way they change it up and rock out at the end. Really cool song.

hmmm, it might be our locations too. i remember seeing a few dodgy old euro movies in my time (many from italy). horror and westerns mostly. maybe you didnt grow up with them or just dont like the kitcsh-ness of it all. for me, more please!

I think what killed it for me was that I heard and liked the song long before seeing the video. I found the song to be very thoughtful and well crafted, and it was jarring to see them going for schtick with the video.
Beastie Boys Sabotage pulls that theme off, this one didn't for me. I do enjoy of cheesy movies, but not really westerns.

I've loved everything Muse has ever done - until this entire album. Not a single song (or video) that I could stomach more than once. I was very disappointed.
-
OK, I've watched the video again based on the discussion, and it's actually better than I remembered. Didn't recall all of the robots and goofy stuff.
I'll say its good, but not great... Comments about not liking this Muse CD are interesting to me, because I hated their other stuff and like this. I lean more towards liking metal and punk, so this is really crossover for me. I hate the singers voice, but it works for this.

Can someone post a link to the video for us lazy folk who don't feel like searching.
