I was wondering if there are chrome colored pushbuttons and dustwashers.
I think it would look really nice if the buttons have a chrome base (what's it called :dunno) and a black or white button.
Even cooler would be an Electric ICE button like this :D
This will look great with the chrome T-molding! :notworthy:

You could always make you own with some plastic chrome paint.
-
I thought about that, but does it look good? And won't it get damaged easily?
-
Well if you are just doing the outer part of a pushbutton it should hold up pretty well. It is not like these things are gonna get the use and abuse an on-site arcade button gets anyways.
-
You could always have some buttons chromed. Do a search on plastic chrome. There are a few places that do it.

I'm thinking of making some metal pushbuttons, actually. My dad owns a machine shop that is pretty advanced. They manufacture aeronautics, medical equipment, communications systems, and all sorts of advanced tech there. I could have the body made out of a hard plastic and the top half made out of something like titanium.

I can get the pushbuttons chromed from happ, just the base I have done it before on special orders for someone, its only certain buttons but it looks cool, in fast you can get chrome or gold plating when i last did it about a year ago...its not very expensive if anyone needs send me a list I have to get a custom quote from my rep

Again... DM is the man.

Very nice! I see there are enough options then.
Thanks all!
I hope I can get something to work with the Electric ICE buttons, I really like that idea. :D

Hey guys I have had a couple of emails on plating already, just to make this clear happ only plates the bases of the buttons you cannot plate the core or moving part of the button 2 reasons...
1. the tolerance does not allow for this
2. on moving parts the plating would just wear off in time

hey again, if anyone needs a quote on plating just pm me the exact happ number & quanity you need I have to turn this in to my rep usually takes 2 to 3 days to get a quote back

As for the dust washer. Someone posted a while back about using the stainless wheel from a cheap Pizza cutter.
I think its a brilliant idea!! :applaud:

Damn those are nice
*drool*
Hmm... maybe something for RandyT to produce this stuff? ;D
-
Hmmm, metal might be good...especially smoked...or anodized. The spring might be the thing to mess around with though.
