Title: GGG Topfire Joystick Problem
Post by: urbecrisch on March 03, 2007, 05:49:54 pm
I'm having a problem with my GGG Topfire joystick.  I want to flush mount the joystick on my CP but when I tried to take it apart it won't separate from the mount it came with.   I don't want to break it or force it off so I'm wondering how to recess mount the GGG Topfire joystick without disassembling it.  Can I do this?

If you would rather use a mounting plate (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=282), I just added it at the store.  It's the same one used with the Prodigy sticks, sans the slot for the actuator.

The red actuator part underneath on the TopFire does come off though.  I usually just pry up on it with a very broad headed screwdriver and then spin it around on do the same on the opposite side.  If you do this a couple of times carefully, it should pop off without damaging it.

Great!  Thanks Randy!  I'm going to order one this weekend.  Looks like I can finally get cracking on my CP!

randy, could you tell us the actual dimensions of the plate?  I don't see it listed anywhere on your site.

The plate is 5" square with rounded corners.

I'll generate a PDF of the template and add it to the description for download.
