I am using a NVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 with S-Video out to a 27 inch JVC TV.
It has worked fine, but I have a question that I need solved....
I just picked up an ACT labs TV-Out light gun for my cab and have been trying it out a little. For some reason, the picture has never gone all the way out to the edge of the screen....stopping short maybe a quarter inch or so on top and bottom. In the docs for the lightgun, it says to make sure the picture goes to the edge. In the NVidia control panel, I selected an option to fill the screen. It enlarges the picture and stretches it so it goes beyond the screen edge....so there is stuff off screen I can't see. As a result, the gun does not calibrate correctly.
How do I get the picture to properly fit into the screen? Watching TV on it is not a problem, picture fits the screen perfectly.....

There are usually controls in the 'display' control panel under the NVidia tab that allow you to adjust the screen size and position for television output using little arrows. Do you not have those?

Well, I have several things like that, I have pressed them several times and they don't seem to do much. The trouble is, with S-Video, all the Windows stuff is pretty blurry....looks like I am going to have to pull out the TV and computer and hook an actual monitor up at the same time so I can see the settings long enough to update them.....

I hate to say this but you may want to consider trying out an ATI card. A friend of mine just installed a GeForce card last weekend for his MAME cabinet and I couldn't believe it -- the picture was about twice as blurry as what I see from my ATI Radeon TV out. The TV out from GeForce cards is not really known for its quality. Make sure you don't turn on the 'anti-flicker' stuff as all it does is blurr the image to hide it. You shouldn't see much flicker in games anyway. Aside from that, you may want to try setting the desktop to 640x480 (if you haven't already) for configuration as it will be way clearer than 800x600 over Svid.

Yeah, I have been hearing that for awhile now....which is why I just went out and bought a Radeon 9550. The GeForce 4 would be better suited in my wifes computer anyway....

Well damn....that still didn't do it. The only way I can get the picture all the way to the edges is by using the "Overscan" feature, and that actually makes the picture too big.

OK there is another option, but you'll have to find the 'service manual' codes for your TV. These are the codes that a technician would enter (usually on the remote) to enter the service menu. In there you can usually make all kinds of adjustments including horizontal/vertical size and position. Try a google search for your TV model and 'service manual code'. Always be careful in there and write down any values BEFORE you change them in case you need to revert back.

Good find.....I spent about 45 minutes searching online for that.
I have my system disconnected, I was testing it on another TV....Guess I know what I am doing tomorrow morning!
