Title: Dreamcast Arcade Cabinet
Post by: falcons7 on February 26, 2007, 11:17:40 am
Hello everyone..... I seem to be having trouble figuring out how to make my arcade monitor display my Dreamcast. I have purchased a Naki Vga Box off ebay and am wondering how i set it up.. I know i have to cut a ground wire. Although that isnt my issue. It doesnt seem as if my monitor has a vga plug. Do i need to make a vga cable to plug into one of my connectors that are currently hooked up to my cps2 box. If it helps Im using a Street Fighter Alpha 3 cabinet. Please help  Undecided

I have found some tips while browsing the forum. Although i need to know exactly what i need to do. Do i need to get a male to male vga extension? after that is all said and done, are the wires that i need to hook up to the molex colour coated? Please help

I've done this a ton of times.  The easiest way to do it is to use a breakout cable like this one.

This cable simplifies everything for you.  The 5 RGB signals come out of this cable.  Just cut the ends and splice into the monitor.

It's alot cheaper to hack a VGA cable but you'll need a multimeter and to follow this diagram.

very good to know..... that seems easy... All i would have to do is splice off the ends attach them to a molex connector then plug it to the other half on the monitors side..... although if i dont want to wait for shipping... i would have to wrap some wires together from an extension male to male vga cable??? any help would be much appriciated

i finally got around to getting the cable that was mentioned. Although, the colors on the vga cable (red, green, blue, grey, and black seem to be different colors than the ones that were plugged into the monitor from my cps2 game. I am somewhat stuck :S please help
