I hate you so much. I love defenders but have never played it on the real cabinet. (to young)
-
Awhhhh!! Now that is just absolutely awesome!!
Well done guy! OK so come on lets have the story about how you found this beauty. I only want to hear it because I had to sell my Defender Cab recently and I really miss it now... :(
Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Dude! That bitchin cabinet DEMANDS to be MAMED! :laugh2:
Nice find bro. Works? Issues? Price? When you sending it to me?
-
Cheers fellas.
To some its a case of 'its just another Defender'
But to have an original Williams 1000s of miles from where it was made is something special IMO.
There are no issues. It works perfectly.
It has the new battery and runs on a switcher, although the old PSU is still in there and still works too.
Also came with a brand new CPO from the Arcadeshop which I will use on a copy of this machine.
Price was equivalent of $600USD. So although not a GREAT deal, I am as happy as a pig in ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.
There is no story to the find. I know the guy who was selling it. Boring, sorry.

That shiny coin door looks like it would go really well with that white cocktail cab you showed a while ago.
-
I really , really like that cabinet!! I think it's absolutely stunnning. It looks
like Jack Kirby art on the side!? Something from old Fantastic Four.
I would love to have that cab!

They kind of borrowed it I guess. The comparison here is of the more colorful art on the early prototype machines, but the same guy is on the production models as well. They also had X-wings and Tie Fighters on the prototype art. I bet they took that out for fear of getting sued.
Check out more on this here. (http://www.andys-arcade.net/personal/defproto/index.htm)

The wifes going to get mad if you keep picking up hitch-hikers.

What I find strange about the whole Defender artwork...both the prototype and the retail...is that the artwork has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the gameplay. Not even remotely. At least the prototype had spaceships though (stolen from Lucas).

Aren't those the little helpless astronaut men on the side?
