Title: Jamma question
Post by: razzerx on February 22, 2007, 09:59:14 pm
I was just given a complete working Black Tiger arcade and was wondering since its jamma and I can swap out PCBs I'd like to add a few extra buttons for different games. So what exactly do I need?

the easiest way would be to order a multi jamma kit that allows you to switch between games without having to open the cabinet

Something like this.

That will work but I still want to add some more control for games that need them.

First thing you need to know is what JAMMA includes -- one joystick and three buttons for two players. Anything else (e.g. more than 3 buttons) is not on the JAMMA harness and requires additional wiring (often called a kick harness) that will be different from game to game.

NOTE: OK, some games will pick up Button 4 from the harness, but that varies from game to game.

Check out the games at you want to play and se what the wiring implications are.

Cheers

Iwas looking at a 48 in 1 pcb. Do you think you could add a trackball for centipede?

Get a copy of the pinouts for the PCB ... I beleive the 48-in-1 has pins on the board for a trackball.

Cheers

I looked into it and I guess it dosnt support a trackball yet. Maybe I'll look into a cps 2 setup. It seem like game carts are pretty cheap.
