Title: Which frontend automatically handles vertical/horizontal switching?

Was it MameWah?  I know that there is "VertiWAH", but one (or more) of the frontends handled both types of games, automatically flipping the display 90 degrees if you used a command-line parameter.

Have a look here: under 'Monitor Orientation' if that is what you mean...
