the frontend seems nice except the pics seem to be lacking something? Does the front end run in lower color mode or bit depth? Anyway to make it 32 bit color if it does?

Those apple-esque screens finally make me wanna use Atomic!
No offense, but some of the layouts on your site are...odd.

Ahhh...welp, it seems it's time to take a serious look at AtomicFE....and to think I was JUST getting MALA to where I wanted it.

It's a European thing...

That first layout is the hotness... I might take some hints from it in the development of my own..

Atomic runs in 16bit colors mode only. For performance and memory reasons. Heavy animated layout can you lot of images , so i choose a 16bit mode to reduce the place in memory and increase performance.
On most of the layout you can not see the difference, on some few yes. And in addition if you use the layout on a Arcade Monitor 15Khz, you can not really notice the problem on this kind of layout.
It's a European thing...
Are you sure the ..odd layouts are done only by european... ;)

Well done to totoleouf for taking that apple business forward :) And good stuff, Youki!

Ah I run on a 55 inch hdtv screen so I would probably notice the colors missing I can tell on the selection bar in the apple theme its got some dithering and such on my computer screen.
Thats my problem with most of the front ends and themes few are made for hdtv useage.

Of course on a HDTV , you will see ...
You can make a High resolution layout that fit your HDTV resolution. Most of my layouts are in 640x480 or 640x288 , because the main usage of my front end is done with Arcade Cabinet Screen.(15khz) .
But Atomic is not limited for the layout resolution , you do what you want as soon as you have enough memory to use it.
