Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered before -
My buddy and I recently saw several multicade-type upright cabinets as part of an arcade auction, and all were running a MAME-like front-end with the title "Classic Games". While we weren't interested in the cabinets themselves, we were intrigued by the ability to navigate and select games by animated game thumbnails using the joystick control. These cabinets appeared to have 36 games loaded each.
Does anyone know the name of this front-end, or the name for this type of "game presentation", or if it's available to purchase or download? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

I think we'd need a pic or better yet a vid.

Here's a sketch of the layout as we remember it - the games were listed in a matrix on the screen, and displayed the game's logo and artwork. You moved the joystick up, down, left and right to "highlight" a particular game, and once a game was highlighted, its "square" would animate into what looked like pre-fabricated looped footage of actual gameplay for that game. You then pressed one of the cabinet game buttons to launch the selected game and start playing. It looked pretty cool and had a more lively presentation than simply scrolling through a list of game names.

I've played one of these in a restaurant in PigeonForge, Tennessee. I, too wanted to see what was running under the hood.

They are JAMMA boards
Here's a link to the game list and a pic of what the menu looks like:

Well that's fairly standard. You can't buy that software, but any of the front-ends around here should be able to do that. You'll just have to make a skin.
