Okay, I thaught this was cool. This morning I felt like looking through some of my Atari stuff and I found a little joystick (I think it was for the Atari 2600) named Slik Stik; spelled like that!
I thaught it was a funny coincidence that the only difference between that company the makes pre-made control panels and the name of an old 3rd party Atari 2600 joystick is a space!
Aside from the awesome name the joystick is fascinating! I am itching to get inside it, but it uses a propritary screw (not even Torx); I may have to drill this one out.
I mean... what are the odds?
What do you guys think?

I have noticed that as well, having that old atari joystick i wondered that at first too.
My thoughts are that when they had their contest for the name of the joystick that the guy who won new about the old "slik stik " and just name dropped that one into the contest. But, i dont know for sure. Thats just my speculative oppinion, so if someone reads this and gets angry, please forgive me for postulating a thought here.
Its was just a thought :)

Yeah, I have a couple of those joysticks. Except I knew about the 2600 joystick before I knew about the other slik stik.

I used to use the Slik Stik for my Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and even into college on my Amiga. Those joysticks were nearly impossible to wear out. After years of abuse, you could always take them apart and clean them and they'd work fine. The only one that I had which stopped working was one that I snapped the stick on using my immense childish video game frustration.
