well since I didn't build this cab I guess it doesn't go in Project Announcements....... Anyways my story is simple have been attempting to build an arcade for 3+ years now. I have started the UA2 plans more than 3 times have multiple pieces cut out, started a showcase cabinet, never finished that either. I have all the parts marquee, controls, coin door, laminates tools to do a cab, just never had time due to work and the real world....... So I finally decided to screw it and buy a cab, but not just any cab. The cab had to go well with my entertainment room layout and color scheme, and what more beautiful cab than a 29" tri sync Atomiswave cabinet. Here are the pics, I plan on gutting the atomiswave board in there and putting mame/dc/ps2 in there as well as an arcade vga Pci-e to control the tri-sync monitor. Anyways here are some pics was excited last night when I get it!!! more pics coming soon Oh and I am on east coast Philly area, so I had to order this from West coast from Matsu, great seller. Cost me 2k delivered ,which is about what all the other components tools wood etc cost me. Guess I will be having a forum sale soon..........

Congratulations on a cool cabinet!
You and you friends will enjoy it for 1000's of hours! Now. You just need beer!

Nice cab. I am a big fan of the candy cabs myself, much more suited to a home environment if you havent got a dedicated games room IMO (lighter and easier to move about for a start LOL).
I know what you mean about real life getting in the way of arcade fun, its not always easy to grab a few hours to concentrate on building that's for sure, which is part of the reason I ended up going for a conversion myself.

got the beer part covered!

I haven't seen that one. Looks better than a lot of them...but I'd miss a spinner and track ball. Looks like you can sit down at it, yeah?
-
yup its sit down, and I will be adding a usb port for trackball mini panel
-
Definately beautiful cabs, congrats on the grab.
I do want to ask - the Tri-res, is it multisync or do you have to use jumpers when changing frequencies? If it is multisync, what's the scan range.
Oh - and what's with the Egret3 CP? It's nice and all, but it doesn't match the rest of the cab.
-
They don't make dual player controls for atomiswave it is designed ot be played as a networking cab so one cab hooks up to a second one for competition. So only way to get 2 players on one cab is through use of egret control panel. It is multisync 15-31 auto switching

Congratulations ^^
I'm not a big fan of the candy cabs, but still... but with the Atomiswave and big monitor it's an awesome game machine! :)
Are games easy to get for it? And what does the Atomiswave and games cost? I'd love to have one *drool*

some can be gotten for 150 some go for over 1k, the most popular one right now in japan is Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the Northstar) Think Marvel Vs Capcom 2 but with anime characters doing insane combos.....
-
I have never seen a candy cab before, I'm still a n00b, but that's beside the point. I really like that cab. Congrats on getting it. Nice bar area too!
-
I'm a bit surprised about the price though. I saw someone quote candycabs at 800 bucks or so over here, Jamma et al. (Europe, Netherlands.)
Must be a typo then...
-
Nice cab!
But... what is up with that blender on the bar???
-
We've just about come full circle. The candy cabs remind me of the very first arcade game.

You need to put a monitor recessed into the middle of that bar for playing Tapper.
Either that, or replace the mirror on the back wall with a Plasma screen.
-
Nice cab. I was really close to buying a candy cab last summer and held off because the guy wouldn't budge on his price.

Nice cab!
But... what is up with that blender on the bar???
It is for when I come over with my kitty.

Very nice cab. I too have been thinking about a do it yourself for a while and have just decided to repaint a already made cab and try and find somene to make a MK CP for me. Thanks to the old lady I don't think I could pull of a new purchase, but boy would that be nice if I could!
