Ok. I have MameWah 1.62b13 which is the latest. I'm using the latest version of Mame. I have a trackball and spinner hooked up to Hagstrom ME4 and they both work fine in windows 98. The problem is that I cannot get either of them to work in any games. I've searched for any remedies on here but the things they show being in ini files don't match the syntax for the current version I'm using and none of them seem to work. If you need more info let me know and I'll post it. I have copies of my mame.ini, mamewah.ini and mamewah.cfg files. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You have to go in to any game, go in to the admin menus, and then set DIAL to mouse 1 or 2 (whichever your spinner is), and trackball to mouse 1 or 2 (whichever your trackball is). Once you do it once, it applies to all games.
Though SOME have had issues with mouse 1 and 2 mixing up from time to time...

FF - I don't mean to sound too much like a noob but where exactly are you talking about?
Hitting TAB to get into the Mame menus? Or are you talking about somewhere else? I don't see any place inside the Mame menus to set the dial to mouse 1 or 2. There are several Dial selections such as Dial Analog, Dial Dec, Dial Inc and so on but I don't see how you can change them to mouse 1 or 2.

You are in the right menus....and yes you can change them to MOUSE 1, MOUSE 2, etc. Click on them, when the <> comes up, just move your device and it will set it to whatever mouse device # that device is set up as.
-
That's the problem. When I click on them and get the << >> nothing happens when I move the trackball or the spinner.

Ah...
Here is a part of MAME.INI:
#
# INPUT DEVICE OPTIONS
#
# ctrlr <NULL> (not set)
mouse 0
joystick 0
lightgun 0
dual_lightgun 0
offscreen_reload 0
steadykey 0
a2d_deadzone 0.3
digital none
Make sure that MOUSE = 1 not 0....
...then visit the menus...

How about posting this in the MAMEWah forum (http://mameworld.info/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=arcadeospc2jamma) on the MAMEWorld site?

I got it! While setting up the machine I've been keeping a keyboard and a USB mouse hooked up just to make things easier. It was having the USB mouse plugged in that was keeping the ps2 stuff from working. Thanks for your help FF. It's muchly appreciated!

...and it wasn't a MAMEWAH question anyway....

I think BuddaBing just said that to help you.
You were looking for MAMEWAH Gurus , i think they are some on MAMEWAH forums.
It is not because you have posted a MAMEWAH question here.
Anyway the important things is your issue seems solved! :)

Besides, that's all BuddaBing posts: go to the Mamewah forum, and

I tried the wiki but it's a bit outdated for the new versions of the software. The things they say to do are not where they say they are. It was useful for the basics.
